The holy beads scientifically called as
Elaeocarpus Ganitrus. Rudraksha comes from Sanskrit word and
literally stands for the "eyes of Lord Shiva"(means rudra=shiva,
aksham=tear of an eye).Rudraksh, the sacred seed which literally means the eye of lord
Shiva, has a brownish red, wrinkled appearance. Rudraksh beads are
generally used with Shiva mantra. However, they are effective with
any mantra said with devotion, for they open the Heart Chakra.
Rudraksh is believed to help Lower Blood Pressure and Create
Stability within the entire system.
Rudraksha beads have been worn by the yogis and
saints of India since at least since the 11th century. The term
Rudraksha literally means the third-eye or tears of Shiva.
Rudrakshas, often called "miracle beads" are highly revered in
India as one of the holiest of all items with numerous mystical
powers. Yogis and Monks found that merely wearing the Rudraksha
beads gave them astonishingly tremendous amount of tranquility and
concentration that enabled them meditate for a long periods of
time with spectacular control over their mind.
